3 month old Evelyn | Lifestyle Session

I think I need more three month sessions. Let me explain why. Their sweet smiles, their chub, their connection with their mama and dad, their fat thighs, their giggle, and their adorableness.
Lifestyle sessions with a 3-5 month baby is bliss. <3

Jess & Eric | Engaged | Massachusetts Wedding Photographer

These two. I can't tell you what a difference it makes to photograph people who are totally into each other and IN the moment. That's what I'm after in 2017. I'm after all these amazing feelings I can just bring out in photographs... I'm into love, family, connection and memories. Give me those pieces and I'll put together something for you to keep close to your heart always, always <3

Can hardly wait for their wedding next year...

The Godzik Family | Central MA Lifestyle Family Photographer

This beautiful mama is also a photographer. When a photographer asks you to photograph their family it's really the ultimate compliment. I was so excited to meet her, and naturally the session just flowed so beautifully.
They were totally in the moment, focused on each other, and the result is... well... just beautiful <3

A Mother's Love | Massachusetts Lifestyle Photographer | Mom & Me session

The essence of motherhood. Right here.
There are so many reasons why I love mama & me sessions... here's so many examples of that. <3

I'm taking bookings for these throughout the winter and spring, so give a gift to yourself, and email me. You won't regret it.

The Madden Family | Massachusetts Lifestyle Family Photographer | Cape Cod, MA

This here is the Madden Family. This beautiful mama you see here is also a photographer, she is talented and wonderful and beautiful inside and out.

When I got the inquiry from her in regards to a family session I was of course, honored, I always am when another photographer trusts me to capture them creatively. And I was so excited because she's got three boys. Being a boy mom, I just connected with her almost instantly. We had some other crazy similarities and to be honest, I felt like we just hit it off from the start.

This family was TRULY wonderful. You could FEEL the love. We really just played the whole time... the boys found everything from crabs to eels, to frogs. They tossed rocks, ran around and did boy things. I was totally in my element capturing it all unfold.

I loved this gallery for so many reasons, but one of the biggest things that stood out to me was their connection and love for each other. Here is just a tiny bit of their childhood captured while their mom and dad take it all in. <3

Thank you Mel, for allowing me the honor to capture your sweet family. xo

Unposed Memories | Massachusetts Family Photographer

Before I photograph your family there a few things I think you should know. Consider this my *DISCLAIMER* :)

1.) I'm going to become your friend. For the hour or two that we are together, look at me as a friend. I'll laugh with you, play with your kids, joke around and run around like crazy capturing every little moment that's unfolding.

2.) I'm going to ask you to please disregard the fact that I am taking your picture. I don't want you to look at me and smile, unless asked, I want you to look at your family. I want you to focus on them. I want you to cuddle them, tickle them, dance with them, throw them around, walk, run, laugh and play. I want REAL. I want to capture YOUR memories. YOUR unique story. YOUR family dynamics. That's what I want.

3.) If you're not comfortable with the above mentioned, I'm most likely not the photographer for you. Anyone can request you to look at the camera and say "cheese"... some can do it a little better than others, yes, but that's not me. That's not my art. That's not my vision. My passion is moments that MOVE the viewer. I mean, emotionally. I look for emotive, genuine and true moments that are uniquely yours. If I can have that from you, I can promise you that your session will be like this one right here....

And with that, I give you this beautiful family. Who did exactly what I mentioned above. They let me be friends, they gave me artistic freedom. They let me "do my thing". And I find when I do what I love most, I love my work the most. I hope you see that, too <3

Baby Brother | Massachusetts Lifestyle Newborn Photographer

This family without a doubt made photographing them a complete dream.
They were natural, sweet, kind, lovable and oozing with love over their new baby boy.
Their home was filled with love and light and I am completely in love with how the session turned out.
Moving here from California, she told me she was looking for a lifestyle photographer to capture the welcoming of her baby and stumbled upon me on the internet. I think that is such an incredible compliment that among all of the talent here in Massachusetts, she happened to find me and choose me.
I am so grateful that she did <3

All of my love to this beautiful family of five...

James | Massachusetts Lifestyle Newborn Photographer

Meet baby James. The sweetest little guy and a perfect mix of his mama and dad. I have had the pleasure of photographing their announcement, their maternity session and welcoming this handsome little hunk home.
So much love here<3

Mama & Me | Massachusetts Lifestyle Photographer

I recently shot one of these beautiful mama & me sessions for a very talented local photographer. Mary of Pebbles and Polka Dots has been on my radar since well before I even picked up a camera. She's got such a successful local business and I can't tell you what an honor it was to be asked to photograph her and her sweet babies. It was so nice to let her just be with her babes and capture it all.
Mary, you and your children are the sweetest and I hope you love these as much as I enjoyed shooting them <3

Medusa Brewing Co. | Hudson, MA | Massachusetts Fine Art Photographer

Medusa Brewing Company opened it's doors in March of 2015. Their growth in success in just over one year has been nothing short of amazing, but completely expected. The beer hall is inviting and warm and exactly where you'd like to enjoy a cold brew, with a 50 foot bar and cozy and inviting tables, there's plenty of room for all. Aside from that they have live music, trivia nights and more-- check out their calendar. Recently they were congratulated in the Boston Harold "Medusa’s Duchovni pilsner was voted world’s best by a panel of expert beer judges, squaring off against 64 other entries from America’s top craft breweries, as well as the best from European beer makers who pioneered this classic continental lager style." (Kerry J. Byrne, author) you can read the article here.

Needless to say, if you haven't been to Medusa, you need to. Located on Main street in Hudson, MA they are BYOF (bring your own food), and they've got all the beer you need.

I was honored to be asked to photograph their tap room and brewery and really enjoy following their success.

Cheers!

Expecting | Boston, MA | Massachusetts Lifestyle Photographer

Danielle is the owner of a wildly successful home decor shop in Boston, MA called Neatly Nested Decor.
Her style is impeccable and naturally her home was straight out of a magazine.
I had the pleasure to photograph their announcement that they were expecting back in the winter on the streets of Boston. They grabbed some coffees from Starbucks and appropriately labeled them "Mom" and "Dad", that session was of course blogged, you can find it here.

I knew I would be coming back to spend time with her in a few months for a maternity session and then again after to welcome her sweet baby. Danielle had envisioned an at home maternity session followed by a walk in Castle Park in Boston. It couldn't have been better.

This mama is stunning, and I am honored to capture this amazing time in her life. We will meet her baby next month in June. xo

Expecting | Massachusetts Lifestyle Photographer

What's more exciting than expecting your first child? Not a whole lot. For me, there's not much that comes close to capturing an expecting mama either. I just love everything about maternity sessions.
This beautiful mama is expecting a baby girl in just one month. She is glowing and stunning on the inside and out.
I couldn't help but share some of my favorites from our session together last week.
A big congratulations to you, Kim<3

I cannot wait to meet your sweet baby girl.

Ella | Massachusetts Lifestyle Newborn Photographer

This family is one of my very first families who entrusted me in capturing their wedding when I first got started. Not only that, but I've had the pleasure of photographing them as a family of 3 over the past 2 years. It was an honor and beyond exciting to enter their house and greet them as a family of 4 a few weeks back.
They welcomed their first daughter, Ella into their beautiful family and she couldn't be any more adorably perfect. Her big brother was settling into his role wonderfully and it was another session where I left thinking man, they're good people. I can't thank my returning clients enough for giving me the honor of capturing your beautiful families. Your loyalty doesn't go unnoticed and I am beyond appreciative for your trust.
I am now offering all returning clients who book this year 10% off their session.
To this sweet family, I wish you nothing but health, happiness, and lots of love together as your family grows.
Welcome, Ella! And thank you for giving me the honor of documenting the ones you love most.

Life Unscripted | Vol 19

Thanks for joining in another month of our blog circle! If you've been sent from Stacey then thank you for checking my post out! If not, hit her up and see what gorgeousness she's captured this month by clicking here.

March is almost over! Yippeeee! Not that I'm wishing months away here, but April is the true signs of Spring and I'll always take the warmer weather over the cold. It means more time outside and less inside in pj's on the days that we are together throughout the week. We planted seeds this month and plan on a vegetable garden this summer! We are so excited to have gotten some sprouts in just over a week! It's a rewarding and exciting project that we all are able to take part in.

Aside from that we've nursed colds, spent lots of time indoors playing and celebrated Easter with our family. It's been a good month overall and we are welcoming April with open arms! Here's to Spring and all things fresh and new!

If you started here then you've started at the end! Head over to the beginning of the circle and check out what Crystal has been up to this month! You can find her happenings here.

Massachusetts Lifestyle Photographer | Why Lifestyle?

There are so many amazing photographers out there. There is so much talent and so many different styles it's hard to choose.
Let me tell you why lifestyle is my favorite.
First, your home is the most comfortable place you and your family could be. There is no pressure on what to wear, no stressing about coordinating outfits, making sure the kids are fed and well rested so they don't have meltdowns, there is no loading them in the car and traveling to a location and gathering everyone to make them stay put and get that "perfect" family photo.
Instead, lifestyle sessions are  simple. The photographer comes to you. I come to you. I let things unfold naturally. Of course I'll provide a little guidance and I am open to any ideas you may have, but as a whole, the pressure is off.
I really hone in on your moments together. The tickles, the cuddles, the snacks, the chaos, all of the things that make your family unique.

Secondly, these sessions document the moments that otherwise don't get documented. These sessions really capture the essence of childhood at home, and will truly be a treasure in years to come.

This particular session happened to be the week of their 3rd birthday.
Mama had some ideas in mind. She had let me know she wanted her baby girl in her wedding dress and she also made the decision to get some photos in the tub once I was there.  Easy peasy. She wanted to kiddos to be the main focus... she emphasized that they were turning three, and in a few short years the last of the "baby" in them would be long gone. What's so amazing about these sessions is we can really make anything happen. I'm yours for 2 hours and we can do anything your heart desires.
Play inside or out, bake, read, have a bath, snuggle, take a nap, whatever it may be that you want captured.... it can be done all in a sweet lifestyle session.

These images capture their daily life. The memories that you'll have when your kiddos are grown, in the comfort of your own home, the four walls built around your loved ones. They're treasures. And I love being able to document sessions just like this. <3

Massachusetts Wedding Photographer | Kelly & Dylan

Back in OCTOBER, yes, October, I had the pleasure of documenting these two and all their oozing love for each other. Why did I wait so long to blog it?! I do not know. All I know is it's being blogged now and I love it as today as much as I did then.
These lovebirds were the EASIEST most awesome people to shoot. They just totally went with the flow, loved on each other and kept it laid back and comfortable. This is the result of their attitudes:

Excited for their wedding this summer<3

Project 366 | February

February came and went. 29 days this year.. days 32-60 are all right here. I'm so happy that I've been able to stick to this project and really make it a priority because man it's the most amazing thing looking back at a month of your little ones.
Lots of time spent inside last month, but we have been so lucky with such a mild winter. We made it to the ice castles in New Hampshire and that was certainly one of the coolest places to document!

March is upon us and I'll be 30 in a few short days. It's the month of Spring and that means winter is on it's last leg.... I love when I can say that<3

here's February!

Life Unscripted | Vol 18

Thanks for joining us for this months blog circle!!! Lots of fun in February, I can hardly believe that it's coming to an end and Spring is just around the corner! One more month, folks!! Then we plan on being outside MUCH more <3

But for now, here are some of my favorite moments in our home and a few of my favorite "non-people" images are included!

Head over to the beautiful and talented Stacey of Soul Threading following next! She always knocks my socks off... head there by clicking here <3

Why start a Project 365? | Month of January

Ah, personal projects. They're all about growth, bettering yourself, reflecting, commitment, consistency... so on and so fourth.
I started my first Project 365 back in 2014. It was my first year of really using my camera. I mean using it in the way it was intended to be used, manual and raw. I sought out a new year and vowed to myself that I would shoot everyday to better myself and learn.
Being self-taught these are the types of projects that help you learn, like a get-your-hands-dirty-not-afraid-of-failing type of learn. There were so many fails in 2014 in my photography journey, and just around the corner there were great successes. I can reflect on my first year with the camera and see my growth, and that's amazing.

Beyond that... I have moments frozen in time of my little ones. As they were at ages 3 and 1. It's priceless really.

So I skipped 2015, focused on other aspects of my growth, really dug into the business side of things, and hit some amazing goals. It was my first year in print, I made pro at both Clickin' Moms and In Beauty & Chaos, partnered up with my amazing friend and started shooting weddings, and my own business took off. I am SO grateful.

The end of 2015 I was feeling nostalgic. I had just finished "busy season" and felt like I hadn't dug into personal work in so long. So.. project 365 (this year 366) seemed fitting.

Why start one? For all the reasons I just mentioned above. Start one for growth, start one for reflection, for commitment, start one to better yourself and your skill.

This is my month of January. Above all, I started this project again to document these guys. The reason I was given a nice camera Mother's Day 2013.... "to take pictures of my children".

3-365.jpg
7.jpg
8-36.jpg
9-366.jpg

When you decide to do something like this, it's important to have a goal or a "reward" at the end of it all. My reward will be a big fat album filled with 366+ images from our year together. I'll flip through the pages years from now and remember my  boys as they were at ages 2 and 4 and a big of 3 and 5. How many people can have that?

So challenge yourself. Don't expect it to be easy... because it's not. Some days I don't even want to look at the camera, touch a memory card, or upload and export on the computer. But it just takes one shot a day. Don't strive for perfection. You're just not going to get it everyday. You'll have favorite shots and you'll have some shots that aren't your favorite. That's okay. I promise at the end of it you'll look back and love the collection as a whole.

24-366.jpg
25-366-3.jpg
1-26.jpg

Tips? Of course! Take a shot every morning before the day really kicks off... the light is beautiful, you have a fresh mind, and you'll have one image that will do if you don't pick up the camera for the rest of the day. If you can't upload it, that's fine! Pick a day maybe mid week and upload them in a batch. Don't put too much pressure on yourself, but also get in a habit. Then it just becomes second nature.

I label each of my images by day so at the end of it all I have a folder on my desktop and it will have all 366 images labeled by day. I'll stick them all on album stomp and BADDA BING! A year in a snap. And it will be SO AMAZING to look back at both your family and your growth for the year.

1-27.jpg

If you skipped January and are still thinking about doing this, it's not too late<3
Just pick up that camera and start today.

The reward is priceless.
