Sweet Lydia graced this beautiful family of four early this month and made this beauty a big sister! The last time I saw this adorable family was when Emme, now 2, was a newborn. So happy to be invited back into their home to capture all the snuggles saved up for their new baby girl. Congratulations Beth & Kyle!
Another fellow photographer contacted me to shoot her beautiful family. Always the best compliment... they drove 2 hours to meet me and they were filled with love and light. I just sat back and watched how they interacted, captured those smiles and hugs and I think the result is pretty special. Here's to your story... your family... and your happily ever after <3
Thank you for choosing me to tell a little piece of your story.
I met this family when they were welcoming their sweet baby boy, Grey home.
He was just weeks old and his two older sisters were completely smitten. I sort of fell in love with these five right away. They were just SO natural and in the moment-- making my job easy as pie.
I was fortunate enough to capture a mama & me session for Krista and her babies back in February and loved everything about it. It was real, raw, natural and so much fun. She shared with me that they'd be moving to Texas in the summer and they wanted to plan one more family session, this time at the beach.
Man, have I been lucky to have captured some really beautiful moments in this family's life. They left Massachusetts with memories of the beach. With some salt in their hair and sand in their toes and they were off to a new adventure in their new home state of Texas. I wish them all the best, and I will forever be grateful that they came back to me two more times after that first session <3
Cheers to clients that leave a special place in your heart <3
Family sessions are really simple when families disregard the fact that they're being photographed and live IN the moment. I promise if you engage with your family, run, laugh, be silly and have fun, you'll get me at my best. And me at my best is when your gallery is FILLED with images like these <3
Love this family and cannot thank them enough for trusting me and my process... perfectly imperfect is perfect in my book.
My sweet friend had her beautiful baby girl back in April and watching her smitten in love with her baby girl for an hour was simply the best. Congratulations Kate and Tony! Your family is to die for and I'm blessed to know you.
The importance of a Mama & Me session. I've touched on it before, several times... but I feel like if it was really received well, if it was driven home the way I think it should be, more people would be booking sessions like these.
When I get inquiries from mothers who want me to come into their home and document the love they have for their children, I melt. Really though, I think it's the most incredible thing for a mother to value this amazing time so much to hire a photographer to document it before it passes. Too often I hear from mother's "I wish I had a photograph like that of me and my babies." or "I'm always behind the camera, never in front of it with them." Change that. Once a year, once every other year, whenever you see fit, change it. Make it happen.
Don't regret what you can so easily change. You're the most important person, soul, heart, thing, being in your children's life... but for how long? When does that change? The thought is daunting, so why not make sure you capture the time when YOU were all that they adored, why not document all of your joy & hard work. Treat yourself to the gift of photographs with your children. If it's not one of your most prized possessions now, it will be later. Freeze the best days of your life, even if it's just for a second.
These moments are everything. Family is everything. Don't let it pass too quick without documenting it, if not for yourself, for your children. <3
I was asked to witness this beautiful mama to be tell her husband that they will be expecting their first baby. I had a vision of my head of snuggles and warmth in the comfort of their home with a hand written letter to deliver to dad-to-be. When I tell you that this session came to life before my eyes, I mean every word of it. It was relaxed, real, raw and true and I am so excited to share it with you.
To these amazing parents-to-be, thank you for allowing me to capture this for you. I wish you both nothing but the best <3 xo
I think I need more three month sessions. Let me explain why. Their sweet smiles, their chub, their connection with their mama and dad, their fat thighs, their giggle, and their adorableness.
Lifestyle sessions with a 3-5 month baby is bliss. <3
The essence of motherhood. Right here.
There are so many reasons why I love mama & me sessions... here's so many examples of that. <3
I'm taking bookings for these throughout the winter and spring, so give a gift to yourself, and email me. You won't regret it.
Meet baby James. The sweetest little guy and a perfect mix of his mama and dad. I have had the pleasure of photographing their announcement, their maternity session and welcoming this handsome little hunk home.
So much love here<3
Onto week three of this year and I am blogging the second week of this project! Still feeling the momentum and happy that I got in the frame in the second week! Hoping to do so every few weeks at least.
Here's week 2!

My first sweet newborn of 2016 couldn't have been more squishy and sweet. He was welcomed home with so much love and joy. He's got a big brother who is already so excited and willing to help momma with the feedings and snuggles. It really melted my heart<3
I am so excited to document more newborns this year and really bright light to all the love that surrounds them.
Welcome, baby Caleb. You are loved.
Somebody pinch me. 2015 has been filled with so many blessings. To have the opportunity to come into people's homes and document their love between their new baby and one another is such an honor.
With that honor and responsibility it is my job to grow and get better. It's my job to fine-tune my craft and really give clients my all.
To do that, I have to follow my heart... I have to capture what I truly believe in. I have to allow myself time to be inspired and not let myself overthink. It's so easy to get caught up in what the photographer next door is putting out, how a client will interpret and view an image, or what poses and props are trending on Pinterest and Facebook. And above all, it's easy to doubt yourself as an artist. I'm choosing to look past those things in 2016. Instead, I'm going to focus on what I love and what inspires me.
So what IS important to me? Realness. I've fully committed the "lifestyle" approach to my newborn sessions. I want to document everything from deep sleep and smiles to crying and diaper changing. I want the good with the bad, the happy with the sad and all that's in between.
I want to give my clients a series of images that will bring them back years from now.
And when they're brought back, I want them to remember how tiny their baby was in their arms, how their little head smelled and how their soft skin felt against their lips. I want them to remember the swaddle blankets and the mess in the background, the jumping toddlers and the pure chaos when a new baby is brought home. With the chaos comes the calm. I want to document that too. Our lives are not perfect. It's the imperfections that make us all who we are. It's the imperfections that make things real.
I want to capture that. I love the imperfections. I am going to keep shooting what inspires me.
Thank you for a beautiful year and thank you for being my inspiration. I can't wait to see what 2016 has in store.
Today I am sharing another sweet cake smash! Ohhhh, I fall in love with these sessions with each one I do! How could you not? Seeing a fresh 1 year old dive into a cake is simply the cutest! The best part about this one is we did it right on their families lakefront property, so this sweetheart rinsed off with a evening swim<3
We kept it really simple, stuck him in a vintage high chair and let him go to town. And the family shots afterwards... ah, I just love how they came out!

Oh this family... they welcomed their third son into the world just over a week ago and my GOSH is he a dream boat. Mom and I spoke and we talked about capturing just the candid, raw, unposed moments during the first days of his life. There's nothing I enjoy more than just freezing happy moments in time. This family is beautiful inside and out and I hope they look back on these images and feel nothing but joy and love<3
Congratulations to this amazing family of 5.
Maternity sessions are one of my favorite if not my ALL time favorite sessions to do. Why? So many reasons... pregnancy encompasses so much beauty, both inside and out. Lots of women are vulnerable during this time in their lives, and while vulnerable, they are the strongest they've ever been.
Being able to capture this beauty for women is beyond a treat as a mother, woman and photographer. I hope that the mamas-to-be that I work with look at these images when their babies are grown, look back and say, "I am beautiful."
Thanks for following our blog circle! If you came here from Crystal's blog then thanks!! If not, go check her out for sure! Her work is awesome and she's oh so talented.
This month us New Englander's are just happy to be OUT OF MARCH! I can't say it's been an April filled with warm spring days and a glimpse into summer.. but we have had a few glimpses. Here's to May! Woohoo! (can you tell I'm a summer girl?)
Here's what I've been up to over the past month. A bunch of my favorites all in a blog post for you<3 Enjoy it... and when you're done be sure to go check out AnnMarie's blog post! I ALWAYS love her work. If you're not following her already- go, go go!
Last week I had the absolute PLEASURE photographing two beautiful women. They are sisters by marriage and really great friends by choice. One beautiful lady at 23 weeks with her first baby & son and the other at 31 weeks with her third son.
We had nothing but a little window light and we made magic. With lots of creativity and some good old fashioned free lensing, we got some dreamy and sultry images they'll be able to look back and remember how beautiful they looked & felt<3
