My why:

Everyone has a unique story with the reason behind shifting to a more non-toxic way of life. Maybe they’re wanting to try oils to support their emotions. Or maybe they are wanting to end the constant sickness that seems to rear its ugly head every other month, or maybe it’s anxiety or headaches… everyone has their own reason.

Here’s mine:

Back in 2013 I was set to be induced with my second son, Dean. Everything was smooth, delivery was fairly easy and when the doctor held him in her arms she immediately shared with both me and my husband that he had been born with a cleft lip and palate.
At the time, we had no idea what this actually entailed. Since we had no indication of any complications throughout the entire pregnancy, this came as a shock to us and was extremely difficult to process moments after delivering. We were worried for him as other factors can be associated with this particular defect and we had absolutely no education or knowledge on the subject whatsoever.
I guess you can say that my journey started in the hospital, after my sons birth. I began racking my brain and searching for the million reasons why this had happened. Was it something I did? Something I ate? Was it something I was exposed to? Was it genetic? What was the answer?… unfortunately it’s one of those circumstances that will never present a clear answer. With that being said, I did my research and became an advocate for not only my child, but for myself and my family.

After months of research, genetic testing and self reflection I came to the realization that I’ll never pinpoint the exact cause of his birth defect, but what I did conclude is if you begin googling and researching “causes of cancer”, “causes of birth defects” you’ll be quite shocked to find out that so much of it is DIRECTLY correlated with environmental factors… you’ll read things like “toxic products”, “GMO”, “harmful chemicals”, so on and so forth…
Fast forward quite a bit… Dean had his 4 surgeries at Boston Children’s Hospital with the very best plastic surgeon who specializes in craniofacial defects. He is thriving, he is healthy, we are blessed. With that being said, we went through some tumultuous times together and my job now is to give my boys the healthiest lifestyle I possibly can.

This is what ultimately lead me to Young Living. After realizing that much of the products in my house were in fact disrupting our endocrine systems, irritating our skin, being absorbed into our blood streams and effecting our bodies, I started making the switch. I got rid of the junk and replaced it with a safe and healthy alternative with a company that I could fully stand behind. I have been completely in love with their mission and purpose.

There are some things you can control, and some you can’t. You can’t fully control the air your breathing, what might be exactly in a public water source, or the many pollutants and toxins your exposed to when leaving the house everyday, but you CAN in fact control what comes into your home, and what you put ON and IN your body.

Every household is different, says Elizabeth Sword, executive director of the Children's Health Environmental Coalition (CHEC), in Princeton, N.J., but we should all look to the same general sources when trying to determine what hazards we're facing. Air, food, water, and consumer products are what Sword calls the "organizing principles" of confronting environmental risks.

If I told you there were essential oils to help purify your air and water and there were consumer products that would SUPPORT your body rather than disrupting it’s systems and causing harm, would you want to know more?

Europe bans over 1300 chemicals in consumer products while the US has only 11 banned. Why is this? It’s because we aren’t doing our jobs over here in the states and we are ALLOWING this to happen. Everytime you buy a toxic product you’re feeding the system and the cycle continues.

There is another way. I’ve made the change and feel better than ever.

Thieves is life.

Young Living has a FULL line of safe, non-toxic, effective products. The Thieves line is my ultimate favorite! They’ve got everything from foaming hand soap, laundry detergent, hand purifier, toothpaste, dishwasher powder and more!

The legend of “Thieves” and how it got it’s name: based on a story from around the 15th century, when the bubonic plague was running rampant through Europe and Asia, four thieves who were notoriously robbing the infectious dead bodies of all their possessions never contracted the highly infectious plague.
They inhaled the plants that make up thieves to keep illness away.

There are HUNDREDS of products, supplements, essential oils, makeup and more. My mission is to help people understand there’s another way…
